RAL x Raw Color – 100 Years – Joy of Colour: The RAL K7 in the anniversary design

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of RAL, the Dutch design agency Raw Color has created a special design for the popular colour fans RAL K7, RAL K5 gloss and RAL K5 semi-matt. All three fans come from RAL CLASSIC – the colour collection that started the history of RAL colours.
The design combines aesthetic design with functionality: each of the selected shades represents an area of application from the history of RAL CLASSIC. A description has been developed for each shade, providing insights into the historical context of its use.

The anniversary edition is linked to a donation for a good cause. With every RAL K5 fan (gloss and semi-matt) sold in the RAL COLOURS online shop by 31.12.2025, we donate €1 to socialbee. For every RAL K7 Colour fan sold in the RAL COLOURS online shop by 31.12.2025, the donation is €0.50. socialbee supports people with a refugee or migration background in their integration into the German labour market. With this campaign, we want to help make the world of work as diverse as the world of RAL colours.

That is why the RAL K5 gloss colour fan is water based

The RAL K5 gloss colour fan is manufactured using water based paints, which significantly reduces VOC emissions during production. Compared to conventional nitrocellulose lacquers, around 90 % of VOC emissions can be avoided.
The switch to water based paints marks an important milestone towards environmental compatibility. The water based, low-solvent colours also offer greater UV resistance than nitrocellulose lacquers, which guarantees improved protection against yellowing in the long term. All RAL colour samples are produced under strict testing and quality standards in Germany.
